Jason enjoys teaching and encouraging others to develop their full potential by pursuing God alongside them. He accepted a call to serve at RCN in July 2016. Prior to that, he served a church in Kansas City for 13 years. He graduated with a Master of Divinity from Nazarene Theological Seminary in 2003.
Jason and Erica have two children, Olivia and Easton. In their spare time, you might find them coaching and playing Little League baseball and softball, hunting or camping in the beautiful Pacific Northwest, or relaxing with a good book in one hand and a cup of coffee in the other.
Student Ministries Pastor
Pastor Scott loves the look in teenager’s eyes when there is an epiphany in their relationship with God. Seeking Christ alongside teenagers has been his passion and why he really loves youth ministry.
Scott and his family joined the staff at RCN in August 2011. He began in youth ministry in 1990 and came to Ridgefield after seven years of church planting in Kent, WA.
He loves backpacking, distance road cycling, soccer, reading, the University of Washington (Go DAWGS!), and Spam. But mostly he loves spending time with his family, watching his kids play sports, and dating his wife, Nicole.
Randy is passionate about investing in kids and families to help them discover that God loves them unconditionally. Randy strives for each child to know that following Jesus is an epic adventure and the best decision they will ever make. Randy joined the RCN team in 2018 as Director of Children’s Ministries. Before coming to RCN, Randy was a math teacher and coach in Vancouver. He earned a Masters degree in Teaching from George Fox University in 2011.
Randy and Allison have two daughters, Amelia and Lucy. They also are foster parents and consider it a privilege to stand alongside kids and families in transition. Randy enjoys coaching his daughter’s soccer teams, tent trailer camping, and listening to audiobooks on his lawnmower.
Director of Spanish Ministries
Loren views the church as the book of Acts, as cultures come together in Jesus Christ, one Savior to all people. He passionately strives to see good in everyone and will not give up on anyone.
Loren, being raised by his Palestinian mother and American father born to missionaries in Thailand, sees no cultural boundaries. Even though Loren’s first language is Spanish, he attended Bible College in Chicago and also studied through Berean University. He has been a pastor since 1984 and has been at Ridgefield since 2007.
Senior Adults Pastor
Pastor Don Bancel deeply enjoys pastoring and encouraging RCN’s active senior adults. He began this ministry with Senior Adults at Ridgefield in March of 2012.
Don is a graduate of Nazarene Bible College and has pastored in 7 churches for a total of 32 years. He also served as Manager and Chaplain in active retirement facilities for 11 years. He has been married since 1956 to Marlys and has three children and nine grandchildren.
Visitation Lay Pastor
As a teenager, Frieda felt a call to ministry. That call was fulfilled as she worked alongside her husband, Michael Goode, for over 37 years. Although Michael has reached his heavenly goal, there is no doubt that God still has a calling on her life that remains strong and fresh.
Frieda serves Ridgefield Church of the Nazarene as Visitation Lay Pastor. She often says, “I have the best job in the church.” She thoroughly enjoys getting to know people new to the congregation as well as leading a team to visit senior members and shut-ins. She also leads a Bible Study in which she encourages women to lead small groups.
Her prayer is that God’s love would be poured “on her,” “filling her” and “flowing out to others” so they, too, will know the love of God. One of her favorite verses is, “Do everything in love.” 1 Corinthians 16:14
Grant keeps things running at RCN. Since 1988, he has been serving in many areas of our church bringing vast experience to the administrative team. He finished his degree in Business Administration in 2010 from Northwest Nazarene University and then God called him into the ministry in 2012. He completed his course of study classes and recently was recommended for ordination at our next district assembly in April of 2019.
Grant and his wife, Renee’, have two children, Jordyn and Brendan. They also have three beloved (well two actually…) cats. Grant is available in the office Monday through Thursday and on Sunday mornings.
